Bob is an award-winning financial planner who joined Carter Financial Management in 1988 after a successful career in executive financial management. The Berg Team includes his son and partner, Joel C. Berg, CFP®. Their practice specializes in serving the needs of corporate executives, business owners and individuals planning for or involved with retirement.

Bob spearheads the Carter Corporate Advantage (CCA) program, a service designed to help leading businesses provide a financial planning perk to their key executives. This strategy helps to improve workplace benefits packages and enhances businesses’ abilities to attract and retain talented leaders. The perk, provided to employees through CCA, includes guidance on stock-related compensation, personalized wealth preservation and risk management, estate planning and tax planning.

Consistently named by D Magazine as one of “The Best Financial Planners in Dallas”1, Bob holds the advanced credential “Investment Management Consultant”², demonstrating his knowledge of planning solutions for high-net-worth individuals. He is a sought-out leader for continuing education workshops on topics including Asset Allocation and Portfolio Management, The Basics of Financial Planning and Small Business Planning.

Bob is past president and chairman of the board for the Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter of the International Association for Financial Planning (IAFP), the largest association of financial planners in the country. Additionally, he was a board member of the Dallas Chapter of The Institute for Certified Financial Planners.

Active in civic and church activities, Bob is a past board member of the Children’s Oral Health Foundation, has served as president of a YMCA chapter, and president of a Little League baseball association. Currently, he serves as a trustee of the Catholic Foundation of Dallas and is a committee member of the Dallas Diocesan Education Endowment Trust. He is a past president of the North Dallas/Park Cities Kiwanis Club.

He graduated from Northland College with a degree in Business Administration.
