Tyler serves clients by bringing expertise and a non-biased perspective to their complex financial lives. He believes that by creating a barrier between client’s emotions and financial decisions he can increase the likelihood of them reaching their financial aspirations. Beyond the creation and implementation of the client’s financial plan, investment portfolios and insurance recommendations, Tyler provides advice to clients regarding charitable intentions, retirement income sources, and tax-efficient planning strategies among other things. He also performs research within the financial industry on investments, investment strategies and general US and global economics.

Tyler has been named one of “The Best Financial Planners in Dallas”1 by D Magazine and has been quoted in financial publications including The Wall Street Journal. He enjoys putting an emphasis on philanthropic activities and believes service to the community is an integral part of one’s civic obligation.

Within Carter Financial Management, Tyler is an active member of the management team and serves as co-chair of Carter Education Partners which hosts an annual investment conference and ongoing seminars for clients throughout the year.

Before joining the Carter team, Tyler received a Bachelor of Science degree in Personal Financial Planning from Texas Tech University. He began his investment career with Fidelity Investments. He also currently holds licenses in insurance, general securities – Series 7 and uniform securities – Series 63.

Tyler is an active member and serves in many different leadership and volunteer roles within the DFW Chapter of the Financial Planning Association (FPA), The Senior Source, the Assistance Center of Collin County, Texas Tech Financial Planning Program’s Alumni Advisory Board and the Texas Tech Alumni Association’s Dallas Board. He lives in Richardson with his wife, Jenny, and is active in his church in Plano.
