oel and his father, Robert Berg, CFP® work together on the Berg Team. Together, they are able to offer their clients sound advice in areas such as business and personal insurance needs, retirement income planning, investment planning and personal financial planning. Their relationships with experts in every area of personal and business finance allow them to provide a comprehensive range of sound professional advice.

In 2015, 2016 and again in 2017, Joel has been named by D Magazine as one of “The Best Financial Planners in Dallas”1. He is active in the leadership of the Dallas/Fort Worth Financial Planning Association serving as Corporate Sponsorship Chair for the past 2 years.

Prior to CFM, Joel spent 13 years with GEICO insurance training, managing, and working directly with customers and vendors in all aspects of the company.

Joel is active in the community as well and serves on the board of the Assistance Center of Collin County, a Plano based charity that helps families through difficult times by working with them to attempt to stem the spiral of poverty in Collin County and the surrounding areas. Joel has also been active with coaching his son and daughter in their various sporting activities.

Joel graduated from Aurora University with a business administration degree and completed his CFP certification program through Southern Methodist University.

Joel is married to Dori, his wife of 14 years, and has two beautiful children, Jonathon and Aubrey.
