The focus of Sue’s financial planning practice has been to become a trusted advisor for her clients. With expertise in the areas of securities research, portfolio management and asset allocation, she listens to her clients’ concerns and ensures their planning needs are addressed. Her clients include attorneys, physicians and corporate executives and their families.
Sue has been named one of “The Best Financial Planners in Dallas” by D Magazine and is a member of the Dallas/Fort Worth Financial Planning Association. She has been quoted in Scott Burns, a national financial columnist, and has spoken to women’s organizations seeking investment guidance and help.
Prior to joining CFM, Sue was a vice president in the Private Client Group of Southwest Securities, a regional NYSE member firm. Before joining Southwest Securities, she was the registered principal of Spellman Capital Corporation, a boutique NASD broker dealer and registered investment advisory firm she founded in 1982. In 2003 Spellman Capital and its clients joined Southwest Securities.
Sue is a graduate of Newcomb College Tulane University and also studied finance at the University of Texas at Austin. Her philanthropic and volunteer work includes the Dallas Women’s Foundation Finance Committee, San Antonio Area Foundation, Leadership Texas Class of 2013, Lovers Lane United Methodist Church and Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas. Additionally, she teaches English as a Second Language (ESL) to new immigrants through North Dallas Shared Ministries.
Sue and her husband, Paul, have two grown daughters and live in Dallas.
