Every year, Carter Financial Management selects one deserving student to receive the Carter Financial Management college scholarship.

This year’s recipient is Sarah Noor Alam. Sarah is an exceptional graduate of Emmett J Conrad High School who moved to the U.S. from Malaysia in seventh grade and learned English as her seventh language after she arrived. She went on to graduate high school and earn her Associate of Arts degree simultaneously.

Sarah is studying nursing at the University of Texas at Arlington while volunteering in hospitals and clinics with the goal of helping others.

Carter Financial Management launched the scholarship program in 2014 to help high-achieving local high school students with financial or other challenges receive a college education.

Over the years, the CFM scholarship program has helped many talented young adults achieve their goals. One such recipient recently completed their bachelor’s + master’s degrees in accounting in just three years.

Scholarship candidates are invited by their school counselor to apply and an essay. The selection committee reviews the applications and invites the top candidates for an interview. After the interviews, the recipient is decided by consensus.
